On the biggest water day, canyon walls rise tall and powerful, while the rest of the journey flows through dense jungle and past massive cliff faces reminders of how wild this place truly is. This river breathes its last wild breath, and you are here to ride it while it still roars.
You will paddle through deep wilderness, connect with remote culture, and meet a river crew who lives for this. Their passion makes the expedition personal.
Adventure wrapped in comfort: wild days on the water, warm meals by the fire, and a final chapter with massage and music in Kathmandu. For the ultimate rafting Nepal experience, let us go.
Touchdown in Nepal! We pick you up, you kick back. Check into your comfy hotel in Kathmandu, breathe in that Himalayan air, and let the adventure vibe sink in. In the evening, we gather for a team huddle: gear talk, last minute questions, and some laughs over our first dinner together. It’s getting real.
Fuel up early, grab a window seat and enjoy one of the most jaw dropping mountain flights of your life. Once we land in Nepalgunj, we hit the road in our private ride cruising 5 hours through the lowlands to reach our put in point. You’ll meet the river crew and sleep riverside tonight under a million stars. Welcome to Karnali country.
Wake up to river sounds and the smell of camp breakfast. Stretch your legs with a walk to a nearby temple, toss a coin for river luck, and prep the gear. We launch midday, float into the jungle lined corridor of the Karnali, and camp where the river tells us to. The expedition has officially begun.
Birdsong, mist, and river steam rise with the sun. Today’s got punchy Class III to IV rapids to shake off the rust and test your lines. You’ll start to feel the team locking in paddle sync, quick rescues, shared stoke. This is when the crew starts to click. Night two on the river, you’re getting into the rhythm now.
More whitewater, more wow. We paddle through deep gorges and take on a lively mix of Class III to IV rapids. This is the Karnali showing off its playful side, with wave trains and punchy features that keep you engaged. Stoke is high, the team is flowing, and the jungle cliffs around you feel like something from another world. Campfire stories guaranteed.
Today is when everything we have been working on comes together. It is the day we deliver our best every paddle stroke, every command, every reaction honed as a team. We need it all to conquer the big name rapids that define Karnali’s whitewater legacy: God’s House, Juicer, and many more. This is the day that makes the trip. You will arrive at camp tired, proud, and forever changed.
The river chills a little. We swap back to back rapids for long scenic floats with occasional surprises. The Karnali begins to widen, giving us glimpses of distant life fishermen on the banks, kids waving from hidden paths, dense jungle still closing in tight. It’s a well deserved chill day on the river, letting your body breathe and your mind wander.
Signs of civilization begin to appear bigger villages, fields, even a few bridges. But the jungle still hugs the river, and you’re still out there. It’s a beautiful blend of raw and real. One more night camping by the water, make it count.
The mighty Karnali spills into the plains. We reach Chisapani Bridge and pull the boats for the last time. Officially, the Karnali Expedition is over. From here, fly or drive back to Kathmandu, or detour for a jungle safari in Bardia. Either way, you’ll be back in town by tomorrow for that long shower and well earned celebration.
You earned this. After days of paddling, sleeping under the stars, and crushing rapids, it’s time to treat yourself. Get that well deserved massage, pedicure, or full blown spa reset. The city will feel loud but your soul will be calm. In the evening, we come together one last time for a farewell dinner, music, and memories. This is the final team gathering, the one where the hugs are tighter, the laughs are louder, and the bonds are sealed for life.
Some will fly home, some will stay, and a few brave souls might already be plotting their next river. However you exit, we’ll get you to the airport with hugs, high fives, and a river sized dose of gratitude. See you downstream.
Roads are bumpy and unpredictable — patience is part of the adventure. Trust the journey (and your driver!).
Bring enough personal medications for the entire trip — pharmacies don’t exist in the middle of nowhere.
Internet is rare or non-existent in remote areas — disconnect and enjoy being truly off-grid.
Avoid drinking untreated water — bring purification tablets or use filtered water we provide.
Be cautious with street food and uncooked items — as tempting as it looks, it’s not worth spending your expedition battling food poisoning or diarrhea. Stick to cooked meals and bottled or boiled water.
Never overpack — it’s just going to be a burden for everyone, including you.
Leave footprints, not traces. Respect the rivers, mountains, and the people who live here.
Come with an open, respectful mindset toward local culture and traditions.
Facilities are minimal in remote regions — embrace simplicity and celebrate the wild instead of comfort.
Carry enough cash — ATMs and card payments can vanish as fast as the phone signal.
Keep your permits and documents handy — sometimes you’ll need to show them at checkpoints.
Stay calm when plans change — things don’t always go as scheduled, and that’s okay. Nepal has its own rhythm.
Enjoy the journey, not just the destination. Every detour and delay is part of the story.
Stick with your group — wandering off isn’t just unsafe, it’s unnecessary in landscapes this vast.
Switch off everything and tune in to the moment. This is why you came here.
Be mindful of altitude and hydration — drink plenty of water and take breaks when needed.
Tipping is not mandatory but always appreciated — your guides and crew will remember your generosity long after the trip.
Smile often — it’s the universal language here and opens more doors than words ever could.
