The idea behind the express series was to create awareness about the importance of free flowing river not just for the whitewater sports but for the nature and culture it supports. Thus, the express series comes to Modi khola (river) which is being suffocated by building dams for hydropower.
It’s more than a competition. It’s about encouragement of the athlete, educating and empowering the people. As the event location lies with in the Annapurna Conservation Area, people that sees this event can educate themselves about the importance of river.
