The Karnali River is one of the longest, pristine and the last free flowing river of Nepal. It offers some of the best rapids and beautiful scenery as it winds its way through remote valleys and steep gorges making it a premier destination for river-based adventure sports in Nepal.
The Karnali River basin is also ecologically diverse, supporting a variety of flora and fauna. The surrounding region is home to numerous wildlife species, including the critically endangered Gharial crocodile and the freshwater dolphin known as the Gangetic dolphin. Don't worry about the crocodile, we won’t paddle that far but dolphin may swim upstream to witness us tackling the rapids.

Once we are all set to jump on the river, we will float for a bit, allowing everyone to get accustomed to the water and their surroundings.
As evening approaches, we will settle into our first night of million star camping facilities. Enjoy the serene beauty of the night sky as we camp by the riverbank, surrounded by nature.
As we begin your journey through the remote and rugged Karnali River, the only way out is to reach the ending point or at least finish all the major rapids of the river. Today we will be
tackling a few big rapids before settling into the camp.
As we paddle for a few hours and then set up camp early, the goal is to prepare and rest up for the big rapids awaiting us the next day. You can choose to sit back, relax, take a river bath or go for a quick walk to the village.
Today promises to be an exhilarating day as we navigate someof the most iconic rapids on the Karnali River, including Jail-House Rock, Juicer, and God House. Forthose who prefer a less intense experience, joining the raft with the guide can provide a safer and more controlled ride through the rapids.
We are not done yet with big waves yet. Fuel up with a hearty breakfast to energize for another day of challenging rapids. Once again for those who dares can get on the packraft or join the team on the big boat. Appreciate the untouched beauty of the remote surroundings. Take moments to soak in the stunning landscapes.
From today, you will start to notice the widening of the Karnali River more and more. This means the waves will become smaller and less frequent, allowing you to enjoy the peaceful flow of the river.
As we journey downstream, we will have the unique opportunity to greet fishermen and villagers along the riverbanks, experiencing the rich culture and hospitality of the local communities.
The weather will become warmer as we descend to the flatlands, providing a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere for the remainder of our expedition.
As the river widens and the waves become smaller and less frequent, this part of your expedition offers a chance to relax, reflect, and enjoy the serene beauty of the surroundings. Whether you take this time to explore, interact with local villagers, or simply unwind, make the most of this transition.
Today is anotherfloat day with few big and small waves here and there. Embrace the tranquility.
